One flat dollar figure per billed pound, your choice. An average invoice cost per pound is only a rough proxy; removing one billed pound from a shipment does not always save that average, because carriers price by rate table, service and zone.
If a 12-inch box typically holds 8 inches of product, that's about 33% wasted height. The slider produces a proposed folded height (rounded up to the next half inch) for modeling; it does not mean a score line exists there. Score heights are set when the box is specified and confirmed on your quote. If you know the finished outside height you'd fold to, enter it in "Fold to" on the box row and it replaces the slider for that box. MVP Box can only fold down, never up.

3PLs ship a wide spread of product sizes across many clients, so stock boxes often ship air. MVP Box folds to a pre-scored height just above the contents at the pack station, in about a second, so one box covers a range of heights. Reducing excess height lowers calculated dimensional weight; freight savings depend on billable weight and each client's carrier terms. No machine, no floor space, no client-by-client retooling.
For DTC brands the box is part of the unboxing, but oversized boxes mean void fill, higher calculated dimensional weight, and a worse customer moment. Folding to a suitable pre-scored height reduces excess height and void fill at the same time, and a snug box presents better on arrival. MVP Box needs no equipment investment, so growing brands can right-size height without a machine.
Ship-from-store programs struggle with dimensional weight because store back rooms can't house right-sizing machines and associates aren't packaging engineers. MVP Box works in any back room with no equipment; a brief demonstration shows associates how to select and fold to the appropriate score line.
