Do I need finished artwork to get a quote?

No. We quote based on dimensions, quantity, and rough description of print needs. Final artwork is required before production but not for the initial quote. Our prepress team reviews and prepares files at no charge.

Can you match a competitor's quote?

In most cases yes, and we typically come in lower because of our direct production model. Send us a competitive quote and we will respond with apples-to-apples pricing.

What is the difference between flexo, digital, and litho printing?

Flexographic uses raised printing plates and is most cost-effective for higher-volume runs in up to six colors. Digital uses inkjet, supports photo-quality graphics, and allows variable artwork. Litho-laminated produces premium retail-ready packaging by laminating offset-printed paper to corrugated.

Do you ship custom packaging nationally?

Yes. Truckload and LTL freight nationwide, with production-grade relationships in Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Philadelphia, San Antonio, San Diego, Phoenix, Louisville, Columbus, and New York.

What file formats do you accept for custom artwork?

Print-ready PDF, AI (Adobe Illustrator), and EPS files with vector artwork at 300 DPI minimum, all colors in CMYK or specified Pantone, and a 1/8 inch bleed on all edges.

How long does custom packaging take to produce?

Standard production runs ship 2-3 weeks after artwork approval. Larger custom runs, structural design from scratch, or specialty processes such as litho-laminated print or complex die-cuts may run 3-4 weeks. We provide a firm production date with every quote and flag any deadline risk before you commit.

Do you offer eco-friendly or recyclable packaging options?

Yes. Corrugated is recyclable by default. We also offer 100% recycled content board, FSC-certified materials, soy-based inks, and minimum-plastic interior solutions. Tell us your sustainability targets at quote time and we will design to them.

Can I order a sample before committing to a full production run?

Yes. Physical prototypes are a standard part of our process. You see, hold, and stress-test the actual packaging before we move to production. For straight reorders or simple changes, samples are usually free. For custom structural design, sample fees may apply and are credited toward your first production order.

How do you handle color matching and Pantone colors?

We match to Pantone (PMS) numbers on flexographic and litho-laminated print. Digital print supports CMYK plus expanded gamut with Pantone simulation. Send us your brand color targets and we will confirm what is achievable on each print method during the quote. For brand-critical color work, we recommend a press proof included on most jobs over a base run size.

Do you redesign existing packaging or only create from scratch?

Both. Many of our projects start with an existing package that needs a refresh better print, lower cost, structural improvement, or rebranded artwork. Send us your current dimensions and artwork files and we will quote a like-for-like replacement or recommend improvements depending on what you need.

What is the standard lead time for custom packaging?

What is corrugated cardboard?

Corrugated cardboard is a paper-based packaging material made by sandwiching a fluted (wavy) paper layer between two flat linerboard layers. The fluted layer provides compressive strength and impact resistance. Corrugated is the standard material for shipping boxes and is recyclable.

What is the difference between corrugated and cardboard?

Cardboard is a general term referring to thick paper-based materials, including the single-ply paperboard used in cereal boxes and consumer goods packaging. Corrugated cardboard specifically refers to material with a fluted layer between two linerboards, used for shipping boxes and protective packaging. When people say cardboard box, they typically mean a corrugated box.

What is ECT and how is it different from burst strength?

ECT stands for Edge Crush Test, a measurement of how much force a corrugated box can withstand when crushed from the edges. ECT measures stacking strength. Burst strength (also called Mullen test) measures how much pressure a box can withstand before rupturing. ECT is the more common specification for modern ecommerce and palletized shipping. The 32 ECT grade is the most common ecommerce shipping standard.

Yes. Brandt Box provides structural design services as part of the custom packaging process. The design team works from product dimensions, weight, fragility, and shipping environment to engineer a custom box, insert, or complete packaging system. Physical prototypes are produced for testing before full production.
