32 ECT Single-Wall Corrugated Boxes

The most common board grade in American shipping. 32 ECT (Edge Crush Test) single-wall corrugated boxes are approved for UPS, FedEx, and USPS shipping and are the right choice for most ecommerce, retail, and general-purpose packaging. We carry over 400 sizes from 3x3x3 inches up through 30x30x30 inches and beyond, in standard kraft and white interior. Most 32 ECT sizes ship same-day from our Illinois warehouse.

Heavy-Duty and Double-Wall Boxes

For products over 65 pounds, freight shipments, industrial parts, and any application where single-wall corrugated will not provide enough crush resistance, we stock 275-pound test double-wall and triple-wall configurations. Heavy-duty boxes are essential for automotive parts, machinery, fragile equipment, and any product that will be palletized or freight-shipped.

Multi-Depth Corrugated Boxes

Multi-depth boxes are pre-scored at multiple heights so a single SKU can ship multiple product depths. Cut down to height with a utility knife to eliminate void fill and reduce dimensional weight charges. How to Choose the Right Corrugated Box

Selecting the correct stock corrugated box comes down to four factors: dimensions, weight capacity, board grade, and shipping environment.

Dimensions. Measure your product including any interior packaging, then add 1/2 to 1 inch on each axis for cushioning. For ecommerce, fit-to-product sizing reduces dimensional weight charges; do not oversize boxes if you can avoid it.

Weight capacity. Single-wall 32 ECT corrugated typically supports up to 65 pounds. For heavier products, move to 44 ECT single-wall or to 275-pound test double-wall. For industrial freight, triple-wall corrugated is appropriate.

Board grade. ECT (Edge Crush Test) measures how much pressure a box can withstand stacked. Higher ECT means stronger box walls. Most ecommerce ships in 32 ECT. Heavier products need 44 ECT or higher. Industrial and freight shipments use 275-pound test or higher.

Shipping environment. UPS Ground and FedEx Ground are forgiving environments where 32 ECT works for most products. LTL freight, palletized shipments, and international ocean freight require heavier construction.

Common Wholesale Corrugated Box Questions

What is the minimum order quantity for stock corrugated boxes?

There is no minimum on stock corrugated. We will sell you a single bundle (typically 25 boxes) or a full pallet. Per-piece pricing improves at higher volume but there is no floor for stock orders.

How fast do stock corrugated orders ship?

Stock corrugated orders placed before noon Central Time typically ship same-day from our Illinois warehouse. Orders placed after noon ship the next business day. Transit times depend on destination — 1-2 days for the Midwest, 3-5 days for the East and West coasts on standard ground.

What is the difference between 32 ECT and 200-pound test corrugated?

ECT (Edge Crush Test) measures stacking strength. 200-pound test refers to the older Mullen burst test. For most ecommerce and retail shipping, 32 ECT and 200-pound test are roughly equivalent. ECT is the modern standard and is preferred by UPS and FedEx.

Do you offer custom-printed corrugated boxes?

Yes. We manufacture custom-printed corrugated in flexographic, digital, and litho-laminated print. Minimum order is 250 pieces for digital print and 500 pieces for flexo. Lead times typically run 2-3 weeks. Learn more about custom packaging.

What is dimensional weight, and how do I reduce it?

Dimensional weight (DIM weight) is what UPS and FedEx charge based on the cubic size of your box, not its actual weight. The carrier divisor for ground shipments is 139, meaning every cubic inch above the actual weight equivalent costs you extra. To reduce DIM weight: use fit-to-product sizing, multi-depth boxes, or our patented MVP Box® which adjusts to the correct height in one second without machinery.
